Activity 4.2. Working with Families

A context known to me whereby this particular school (preschool) works with families:

1.Conducting regular workshops for parents base on topics and issues that are of importance to parents. However, this particular preschool invites extended family members and persons that resides in the community to all events. This preschool believes that a takes a village to raise a child. 

2. This school provides parents with online forums whereby they can suggest ideas for school improvement, and whereby parents can communicate any concerns to administration and teachers. 

3. Families that are in need are given food and clothing donations/hampers.

4. Printed materials are published in Spanish. 

5. Parents recipes are published in the school's newsletter.

A context known to me whereby this particular school (preschool) works with families:

In addition to workshops parents are encouraged to assist in special events such as reading buddies; planning sports meets; fund raisers; and also using the community as contributors during Christmas time etc. and any other yearly calendar events as we are a multi cultural society and we acknowledge and embrace all cultures.
