Write an example of a strategy to positively manage behaviour, that you have tried or observed in a classroom and say why it worked or not.
The strategy of collective responsibility. It targets a "one for all, and all for one" ideology. I have used this strategy to foster in the classroom that we are all responsible for the atmosphere in the classroom. In the classroom we are a family and we look out for each other, encouraging one another to excel. It creates 'pressure' on the student who wants to be disruptive as the other students tend to be call out the student on the misbehaviour and encourage him/her to conform to the shared rules. Since it also means that they will all suffer the consequences for the behaviour of one, there is better attitude towards learning and classroom expectations. This was most effective whenever I had to leave the classroom for any reason for a short period of time and they had set tasks to complete.
