This article listed several strategies which I found useful to me in the classroom. I had never heard about Positive Behavioral Support and Interventions before but I have used several of these previously. It can be used for both children with disabilities and those without. These are some strategies author suggested:-

·         Routines. Set clear routines for everything you would like students to do in your classroom. ...

·         Silent signals. Create silent signals to remind your students to pay attention and remain on task. ..

·         .

·         Proximity. .. keep them close to you to keep them on task

·

·         .

·         Quiet Corrections. ...avoid using shame and intimidation

·

·         Give students a task. ... sometimes disruptive students act out when work is completed so you can send them to deliver a message to another teacher etc

·

·         Take a break. .. give them a brain break… a fun quiz..

·         .

·         Positive phrasing. ... avoid using if you don’t you will be punished

·         State the behavior you want to see.tell them what you want to see
