Activity 4.10 - Bringing it all together

The two major things I will take away from this course is

School based teacher development (SBTD)-There are many veteran teachers at our school and it would be great to have a system. Knowledge is passed down but it is not in any systematic way and mostly through unplanned conversation. If we are  able to codify these system , teaching can be improved

The importance of positive language for inclusivity. There is a habit in the profession to insult students who are either intentionally or unintentionally frustrating. Teachers should always encourage growth and learning. It would be counter productive to insult students for their lack of academic abilities.  There is a  saying that comes to mind “The axe forgets but the tree remembers” . It is important to remember we teach not only by what is written on the board but what we say .
