Bringing it all together

I have learnt a wealth of information to add to my previous knowledge and experiences.  I have learnt the meaning of inclusive ethos and ways in which it in cooperated in the classroom. I have also learnt how to prepare a plan for a child with individual needs implementing the buddy system and to reminding myself we also teach by what is said thru our body language.

This course was presented in a manner that further deepened and solidified my beliefs about inclusion and school inclusivity.

Two things I would like to take away are the admiration and respect for the teacher educators in Africa and the challenges they have had to push through to make inclusion work. Their experiences and work ethics give pause for reflection on my school context - what we have achieved and the work that is still to be done on the road to creating an inclusive school.

A second thing that I am to take away is that whole school inclusion is incremental, stakeholder mindsets have to be in sync, children's voices can cause change in adult mindsets once given the opportunity to be heard.

Kavita, will you be able to implement what you have learnt in your class/school? If yes, how will you go about it? If NO, what will stop you?
