At a school that I work with, the use of the Student Support Team will host educational sessions with teachers and the administration to educate them about the needs of students with special needs. The session also highlights ways in which the Teacher can be supported in teaching students with special needs. In some instances, the Support Team may also conduct a staff briefing to alert everyone as to an update of a student's diagnosis that can affect other students in the school. This information is shared, so that teachers alter their disciplining and teaching strategies so that the student receives the necessary support.
