Activity 4.2 Working with families

Ways in which schools can work with families would be through social media forums such as group chats and messengers. By creating parent- teacher/ school conferencing sessions and homework or after school activities to have parents involvement working together with teachers and principal as a team. A parent committee to aid in fund-raisers can contribute to having parent’s involvement working collaboratively with the school.

  • Involving parents in decision-making.
  • Giving teachers the tools to reach out to families.

I agree with you. At my school we include our parents by letting them know of school activities and inviting them to come in and share their expertise with the students. We use them as resource persons also.

Working with families

I agreed that working with parents is very important. Parent involvement help teachers to identify unseen abilities or disabilities of a child.
