Working with families

Adding to what was mentioned in the passage  some other ways in which schools can work with families is by having family outings where they can bond and communicate with each other, school small activities weekly whereby a parent with a skill may come in and teach the children and teachers something new, also fun raisers may help bring about a togetherness as they are all in for a particular purpose and cause.

In addition, the school management could plan each term to have an open day in the school and invite parents/families to engage with the teachers and children in a free atmosphere. The families should be informed in good time and be given a clear list of the aspects to be addressed, for example these  may include: child's performance, conduct, challenges and way forward. To ensure the best outcome , the school should encourage free dialogue between all the parties and finally come up with an agreed roadmap to enhance inclusivity in the school.
