Activity 1.2

Responding to the activity stated:

Question #1-It was very informative and I was not amazed by the information stated here that contributes to an inclusive school.  Indeed, all schools should be at a standard to accommodate children with or without special needs as well as equipped with designated well-trained and qualified personnel to attend to those who are disabled.

One addition, is that parents are partners in their child's learning . The schools facilitates this through parental participation through regular meetings when planning , monitoring their child's participation and progress at school.  Having this system employed at schools via policy means; it demonstrates critical value of parental involvement in all aspects in the child's learning.

Question #2-To my understanding, "soft skills" refers to our personal attributes that contributes to the success of the work or school environment.  For example, our leadership qualities such as being a mentor, a resource provider, working to achieving set goals; good communicators and exercise good communication skills such as being a good listener, speaking standard English and not broken language; when teaching and interacting with administration, parents and students; teaching materials should be clearly explained and provide feedbacks to students when the need arises; working well with others or being a team player in the work/classroom environment; display problem-solving skills and face challenges when they surface; be flexible in any given situation ;show responsibility to get the task done and in a timely frame manner; Show empathy and patience towards students, parents and colleagues in any given situation and show off your creativity to captivate students interest and create a rich and positive learning environment to foster learning for diverse learners in our onus.
