2.2 Working With Parents and Caregivers

It is quite important that educators avail themselves to parents and caregivers of student (outlining boundaries of course), so that issues can be discussed, information pertinent to specific children can be relayed in the strictest of confidence, support and praise for individual efforts can be conveyed with a sense of comradery. Such initiatives fosters comfort amongst all parties involved and sets a highly effective and comfortable atmosphere for student learning.

I agree with you Helen , school leaders and  teachers making themselves available to parents not only gives a welcome feel but parents knowing that there is collaboration between school and home will feel safe leaving their children in school care.
