FEATURES OF AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL.

AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL CATERS FOR ALL CHILDREN, INCLUDING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. THE SCHOOL MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH THE RELEVANT RESOURCES THAT MEET THE NEEDS OF ALL THE CHILDREN, AS WELL AS STAFF MEMBERS MUST BE WILLING TO WORK TOGETHER AN COOPERATE WITH EACH OTHER AS THEY SHARE IDEAS AND LEND SUPPORT TO EACH OTHER.

Features of an inclusive classroom include

- universal  arrangement of furniture.  students grouped for socialization and learning.

- assistive technology (tripod pencils, pencil grips, braille, sign language charts)

- open ended materials (wooden blocks, hoops, playdough, sand, water)

- soft skills (strong leadership, collaborative staff, daily schedule that includes everyone)

- inclusive policy and regulation standards, adaptive curriculum

- resource room with competent resource personnel
