3.7 Resources for School-based CPD

Highlight one aspect of these materials that you like and one that might present a challenge in your context.

One aspect liked:
One aspect that is useful is the diverse ideas presented to help improve and enhance the teaching/learning process. For example, the idea of getting more/all students involved in the lesson. Changing the way of questioning; focusing on the individual needs of each students and thus, tailoring the lesson to target or meet those needs.

One aspect that may be challenging
The use and implementation of Quality Circles. A quality circle is a small group of between three and 12 teachers who do the same or similar work, voluntarily meeting together regularly, usually under the leadership of a more experienced teacher or external expert, and trained to identify and analyse challenges posed by their work. I cannot see this working in the Primary Schools as there are no "free" periods that can be utilized to have these consistent meetings.
