4:10 Bringing All Together
Hi,
This course has taught, as well as reminded, me of the many things we have to do as professionals and as caregivers for our students. It not only taught me that we focus on the work ahead, but also the learner, who we have to make comfortable and allow them to reach their full potential with our help. Inclusive learning is for everyone to become better, not just the students are learners. In fact, as teachers, we are life long learners who as part of a community should work collaboratively with our colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure we provide the best for all students.
We must always get involved in professional development that is authentic and relevant to us job and to our learners. Teacher need to see themselves as learners and we must all be willing to adapt and find new ways to support our learner, their parents and other who need our assistance. Our continuous improvement would indeed bring about the required change for all.

I agree with your comment. We must all willing to change our own mindset and welcome new strategies. I also strongly believe in that "ALL CHILDREN HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN EDUCATION " no matter their ability. We need to show the world that these children matter and they can do great things just as 'normal' children can.
One thing that stood out to me was "it takes a village to raise a child". I haven't heard this in so long. Parents nowadays don't want anyone disciplining their child. But they need to understand the importance of the village is not only to discipline but to lend support.

4.10 Bringing it together
I agree with both Michelle and Prisha working together with the all parties using professional development and strategies will take us to the point where we will be able to work with all of the children in our care.
I have learnt a lot from this course. Inclusion is very important for children who need to be placed in the school system to be able to function and get the education they need. I believe that "normal" children need to be more accepting of the children and assist in any way necessary to make them feel a part of the education system and not left out. This is where the buddy system would help because it has to start somewhere. Taking the buddy system back to my school will encourage inclusion in socializing along with understanding the curriculum since only a buddy can enlighten a peer by breaking down the information to their way of thinking.
Also professional development will keep teachers updated in new strategies to assist them in their delivery of the curriculum.
