Activity 4.2 Working with Families

Another example in which schools can work with families is they can have parents volunteer to plan activities that can contribute to the holistic development of the child. For example; school bazaars/frolic, Christmas concerts.

The school can also maximize on the external agencies and the resources that they provide, for example, referrals can be done and the School Social Worker can conduct home visits, and support to the child and their family.

Shinelle, I agree the school can maximize on the external agencies that are provided for example the school social worker but sometimes there is a lack of  persons/workers to support the children in need. Therefore, Administrators, most of the time will face challenges as staff at schools will have to commit themselves to support the learners. Therefore schools can have the professional learning community to assist each other.
