A teacher's knowledge and attitude makes a big difference

I had a previous situation where a child who was diagnosed with ADHD/Mild Autism was in my group. At first it was very difficult meeting the child needs. It was only when I began researching and changing my attitudes and teaching methods that I was able to successfully include him in all activities.

Yes Allison, as early childhood educators we have to be proactive and equip ourselves with knowledge. Knowledge is a powerful tool!

Agreed, attitude has a large part to play in effectively catering to the needs of all students in the classroom. Once attitude changes teachers become more willing to do their own research on how to meet student needs and it becomes easier to manage.
