I remember while attending secondary school there was this on particular boy in my class that could not read. Whenever he was called upon to read anything in front of the class he just could not. I remember students making fun of him and I myself was thinking ' why couldn't he read". I also vividly remember most of the teachers belittling him instead of trying to assist  him. As a Special Educator now I realize that the educators at all levels failed this young man and he eventually dropped out of school. I think the unhelpful attitude towards this student by the teachers led to him feeling like a failure an eventually dropping out of the school system.
