Creating an Ethos

Two factors that contribute to an effective ethos and culture of a school would be recognizing that each person; both teachers and learners have strengths and that they should be showcased in the school. It is the aim that learners especially would come to know their worth through their various gifting. We also ensuring that their are varied co-curricular and extra-curricular activities available to students.

We are also creating an effective ethos by supporting parents through close and constant communication, opportunities for parents' development to empower them in assisting their children. Apart from the principal sourcing professionals to train parents, some teachers also engage in organizing and executing the training sessions for parents.

Hi, Patricia, you raised some great points. I especially like the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. I think this will help all learners to develop strengths in areas where some are weak.  Also, it can provide a platform where children can excel in where they may not have been afforded the opportunities.

Nisher

Hi you mentioned some valid points, and I totally agree that both teachers and students have the strengths and ability to perform various task, however from experience there are certain schools/school officials that do take not take the students abilities seriously and they are left in the back to fend on their own and its really sad.

Commmunity members play a key role in developing strong school ethos in tyhat when they are invited and allowed to participate in school affairs they bring  lots of ideas ,support apart simply being physically avaible at school which in itself is a sign of moral support and concern about what the school is  doing.

Parents also as pointed out by Patricia are particularly key as they are a great source of inspiration to the school and more so the children.  I am imagining how thrilling it would be for parents to get trained by various specialists at school?
