I have learnt a lot from this course and I am grateful for the opportunity.
The two things that stood out to me the most are the "soft skills" that was mentioned by Daniel in week one of this course. Teachers attitude play a crucial role in inclusion. It is important for all teachers to work collaboratively to create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning for all disabilities.
In order for this to take place teachers must feel motivated to work with all disabled children to achieve the best outcome. Therefore, continuous training in the chosen field is important
Another strategy that stood out to me is the "buddy system". Through developing a "buddy system" the child will have a partner who they can play with and also to assist them in activities. This buddy will not berate them when they cannot complete a task but rather support and aid them.
A buddy system can take place where you can pair two children together so that they can play and learn together, while giving support where necessary.
