Activity 2.7 Positive behaviour management strategies

Write an example of a strategy to positively manage behaviour, that you have tried or observed in a classroom. Say why it worked or not.

  • I teach children between the ages of 3 and 5. An example of a strategy that I have tried to positively manage behaviour in the classroom is to reward the children with extra table top time. Upon completion of the task that was given the children are allowed to choose an apparatus to play with for a specified period of time. This strategy works well as the children are more attentive and show a willingness to getting the assigned task done without me having to intervene for frequent displays of disruptive behaviours.
