4.10 Bringing it all together

This course provided me with an in depth understanding  of what it takes and what must be done to create an inclusive school. It has really made me reflect on my own practice and has given me various strategies,  examples, resources /tools which I can adapt and utilize in my context.  I have gain an understanding of how to work along with all stakeholders within and outside of the learning  organisation. Two things I will take away from this course into my practice is:

1. Continuing to ensure that I have a postive  attitude in working along as a team  with all stakeholders  within and outside of learning organisation who all contribute  to inclusivity. I will continue to work collaboratively , to ensure that all learners are welcomed, supported and engaged actively  in  the teaching and learning process where diversity is valued and their needs are supported through curriculum delivery,  how the learning environment is organized, resources,  teaching methods and strategies,  communication  with families,  caregivers , and all stakeholders.

2. Another aspect the course I will take into my practice is how to  create individualized education  plans  for learners with special needs and disabilities   assessing , monitoring  progress and providing  support  that will meet their individual needs.

In addition  to the two things  mentioned  I will like to add the various strategies  for managing behaviour, incorporating  the buddy system, as well as working on creating a resource room. I also appreciate the various key resources that are available for us as educators to adapt to our own context  and utilize  in practice.
