Activity 4.10 Bringing it Altogether

Two things that I would take away from this course and into my practice is the play buddy strategy and creating positive ethos in the classroom.

The play buddy strategy which includes all children with disability having someone to play with at break time seems as a very effective strategy. Play is important for the holistic development of all children. Using this strategy ensures equal participation of all students. It allows children to feel safe, it increases self-confidence as well as self-esteem. It will also build on other developmental areas such as physical and cognitive.

Another strategy that I would take away is creating positive ethos in the classroom. Ethos is the importance of nurturing the child as a whole. Ethos in early childhood education gives children a good foundation on which to build on. Children develop a good sense of self and family, and learn that their actions are valued.

Great contribution. I also intend to create a buddy system in my classroom,...
