Activity 3.9 Monitoring Tools

I found both resources very important and useful tools for measuring and monitoring the success of a school's inclusive education system and by extension I think it may also be useful as a means to monitor the implementation of the school's policies.

For Resource 2 I would like to add the following:

- The school can set up a database (electronic/non-electronic) of competent teachers, parents and other desired persons who can be resource persons for sharing best practices.

Activity 3.9 Monitoring Tools

With the information that this course is offering the individual Teacher, it will allow for the discussion with the Principal/ School Administration on what is needed to make the school more inclusive especially for challenged students.

Implement a system with Peer Audit and Principal to evaluate the effectiveness of the programme and provide feedback.

I agree with you Mohammed as the PL is very key in running any school and can influence the school very much.

Aliyah Mohammed I agree with that suggestion. If every teacher implements what they have learnt the schools will stand a better chance at being successful.

Activity 3.9 Monitoring tools

A few schools I know don't meet the criteria as outlined in the tools and therefore aren't inclusive at all.

In monitoring tool 1, I would add that "Support structures for learners are available and visible to everyone"

Reach out to those schools John and educate the staff on importance of inclusivity and how to go about it.

Yes Shaffina, both monitoring tools are very exhaustive to identify an inclusive school. Maybe we just need to know how much of the criteria is met to justify the school being inclusive or not.

I agree that both resources are important but needs to include accommodation and modification infrastructurally to class and school student accessed areas
