Activity 1.2 Two important features of an inclusive school

Activity 1.2

Two important features of an inclusive school are the teacher’s positive attitudes and a physical environment that is adapted to include all learners. I think teacher’s attitudes towards inclusive teaching will affect their ability to implement an inclusive approach towards education. Where there are simple things that all teachers can do to create an inclusive classroom like rearrange the class or alter the method of teaching. Additionally, when a person feels comfortable and welcomed in an environment they will learn. They can feel this way even on entering the school where there may be ramps for their wheelchairs or hand rails in the washrooms.

These two things are evident in an environment that I am attached to. The physical environment is adapted to accommodate learners with disabilities and teachers have positive attitudes towards teaching all children.
