Hi Patrice you made some valid recommendations. I also worked at a school that had no policies in placed, before registration they would screen the child and if discovered any disabilities the child was not admitted to the school

I most certainly agree because I have worked within a school where in this case the children are accepted except that the teachers are not trained to cater for the needs of the children and a Special Education Teacher rarely visits the school because she is attached to other schools within the area and these children are left to roam the school during class time. Most definitely there should be regular meetings held with parents and teachers to educate and share information so that teaching and learning can be done effectively.

Sadly, the reality is that some of the schools are not equipped to cater for the needs of children with disabilities whether it is the physical environment or teachers not possessing the skills or knowledge for special education.
