The ability to ‘Plan Lessons’ is one aspect of the materials I liked. By reviewing the resources I was able to:
· Gather pertinent information on how to introduce a lesson in a way that captures a learner’s attention.
· Understand how to teach new concepts by building on what learners already know. How to create a learning environment that is safe and encourages learning. Also, how to use methods such as group work to get all learners involved in activities.
· Implement a simple but effective way to evaluate my teaching and learning practice at the end of a lesson or activity.
Planning lessons and activities to meet each learner’s individual needs in an inclusive classroom might be a challenge as the resources and equipment that are needed to enhance teaching and learning may not be readily available.
Dookie , I support your view . The success of a lesson is determined by a teachers' input at the planning stage. Good planning which involves information gathering, internalizing content, collecting, making/modelling resources among other activities can be very involving. The challenge here is availability and appropriateness of the needed resources for effective planning and later practice.
