Creating an Inclusive Ethos and Culture

I think two very important aspect that contributes to creating an inclusive ethos and culture are:

1) Encouraging and nurturing an appreciation for our unique differences:

Children without special needs need to be made aware of the differences among themselves and others and at the same time develop an appreciation and mutual respect for their special peers. This would cultivate a positive learning community within the classroom where all children feel as though they belong and no set apart.

2) Upholding the vision and mission of an Inclusive School.

What drives an inclusive ethos and culture in a school is strongly embedded in the vision and mission of the school. I strongly believe when a staff work together towards these pledges, anything can be accomplished at the school.
