Professional Development

One of the most interesting and beneficial teacher development training I ever participate in was Visual and Performing Arts. At the ECCE level where I teach it opened my eyes to the different ways we can present learning. It also creates an avenue for learning and expression in an enjoyable way.

Through visual and performing arts children are given choices that suites their preferred style of learning. It encourages creativity and expression through song, dance, drama, art etc. I can see this being used in the inclusive classroom because many special needs children require therapy in many areas such as physical and sensory development. Engaging children in different aspects of Visual and Performing Arts can very much aid in their development as they actively manipulate tools and materials and movement of their bodies.
