Creating /building partnerships with outside
organisation can be fruitful for schools in multiple ways. Outside agencies can
provide a variety of services which can help the school and parents. School
nutrition programs apart from providing free meals, they can also help by having
nutritionists offering free screening and examination to students who may be
under-developing because of lack of nutrients and further help by referring to
the specialist/specialized clinics. Also, the local health centres, apart from
allowing the dental nurse to visit once per annum, they can also make provision
for medical doctors to conduct basic examinations as well with specific focus
on the child’s overall growth and development.
It is imperative to build relationships with
Educational districts as well so that they can offer training and workshops to
equip teachers and parents with the knowledge and skills to become more
competent and effective in assisting and supporting our children. NGO’s are
organisations that do voluntary work and we can capitalize on these
organisations as a great school support
system. Partnerships with certified day care can also be a good source of
support, parents who need to work long hours can have the comfort of knowing
that their children are safe. The basic challenge that I foresee here is the
fact that not all of the organisations which I mentioned may be free of charge
so it will definitely prove to be a challenge if parents cannot afford these.
