I would convince local stakeholders to make better links outside the school by showing the benefits that can come from a 'community' approach. Remembering that a child doesn't grow and develop with just the influence of the school and home that they come from. Getting other support groups( medical teams, after school activities, food and nutrition organizations ,etc.) involved in the 'school life' of children may hold tremendous rewards for both entities. When there is a strong sense of community among everyone, there is more acceptance towards each other, regardless of what their need is. It may also create a sense of hope for those who are most in need.
