Activity 4.2 Working with families

In my opinion I think schools can work with parents to lend support by not only providing after school programmes like homework centre or sporting activities. This is so because the school will have a better understanding of the needs of the community. The school can then provide programmes that are more geared towards facilitating these needs. For example, programmes that can enhance parenting skills and to assist parents how to navigate through everyday tasks (like a budget workshop, how to effectively manage your finances). The school can work together with different Government Ministries, example Family Planning and Mental Health to provide counselling and guidance services.
