Activity 1.2 What makes an inclusive school?

Inclusive education is the most effective way to give all children a fair chance to go to school, learn and develop the skills they need to thrive. Two important features of an inclusive school would be:

1) Support given to student by all stakeholders (parents, teachers and the wider community). Therefore, workshops should be held to guide and support educators in which will assist in planning interactive activities that will meet the needs of every unique individual growth and development.

2) A resource room and personnel are invaluable tool in an inclusive school. The resource room helps students focus better, be more engaged and understand the materials more easily. Personnel in the resource room plays a critical role as they need to design all instruction to meet the specific needs of the students they serve to maximize their learning potential. Also to work closely with the child's regular classroom teacher and the parents to ensure the support is indeed helping the student reach their full potential.
