Activity 4.4 School Based Partnership

Convincing local stakeholders including the school management committee to make better links outside the school.

Stakeholders are the individuals who have a stake in the school. These are the individuals whose support is needed to provide a positive school experience for our children. Thus, a healthy relationship between local stakeholders and outside links are important, as this will enable everybody working together, having a positive impact on the children.

External stakeholders have a critical role to play in supporting improved learning outcomes. If long term success of a school system is considered important, then external stakeholders can be highly motivated and can become powerful drivers to help achieve and maintain positive change in our schools. This means on-going collaboration with a focus on children's learning outcomes and about open dialog on the need that many schools face, which is to improve children's learning. When the local stakeholders including the school management committee, parents and outside stakeholders like the community and others work together and align their efforts around our children's achievement, more children will succeed, success will be sustained, and education will be at it's best for all children.

A possible challenge that might be faced in making this relationship a success might be taking people's time and schedules into consideration. They may not all be available at the same time or all the time.
