Activity 3.9 Monitoring tools

Activity 3.9 Monitoring tools

The tools presented in both resources would be extremely helpful in monitoring inclusivity, but I believe they would both need to be adapted to the culture of not only the school, but country it is being adopted into.

Personally, however, I would add a category that monitors the differently abled child’s opportunities for social interactions with their more able-bodied peers. The evidence of which would be:

1.       Children meet and interact in spaces provided and utilized.

2.       Partner or small group work.

3.       A buddy system is in place.

This evidence would be collected by observation, as well as formal and informal feedback from learners.

I totally agree with you, the buddy system will develop appreciation and respect for learners with disability among their able bodied peers.
