Activity 1.5: Creating an inclusive ethos and culture

Two factors that can contribute effectively to an inclusive school are :

  1. the right attitude of the  stakeholders : The stakeholders are the persons who ,most of the time, are directly involved in the school . they are the ones that can influence others through how they refer to the school  whether it is in a negative or positive actions. People read what we are thinking through  our attitudes and what we display.  Therefore the right or positive attitude of the stakeholder can contribute to an effective inclusive.
  2. The impact that the community has on the school :the school is designed to bring change to lives but is unable to do because the school alone does not have all that is needed to do so. Within the community there is a skill bank with  many persons who are able to volunteer their services according to their skills to fulfill the needs of the school.eg fund raisers, special teachers, resource for materials.

The community has a great deal in creating an inclusive ethos and culture of the school. I agree with you on the second point. Attitude as pointed out in the first point can not be over emphasized on its vital role in creating ethos of an inclusive school. Educationist and all stakeholders need to be on board.

True. The influence of aninclusive school extends beyond the physical building of a school. The community, school stuff, other learners, parents, stakeholders etc all have a role and reponsibilty to play in creating inclusive schools

The community and Stakeholders do play an important role in the development of a school and a child life. I agree with your point.

Both points were quite relevant. The community and the stakeholders are needed to develop an inclusive environment within the schools

I agree. Engaging the community is very important to creating a positive school ethos. It is the first step to sharing a common vision and mission and facilitating success in creating an inclusive school.
