1. Note down the 4 key factors that the narrator says are important to create an inclusive ethos in school.
The 4 key factors are: 1. Strong leadership from school based support team 2. Whole staff commitment to inclusion 3. Flexible management 4. Systematic approach to remove attitudinal learning and physical barriers in schools
2. How does a school that you are familiar with exhibit these four factors? Note down your ideas.
The management team at my school are very flexible and willing to adapt to change for the benefit of the entire student body.
3. Note the different needs of some disabled pupils who have been included in the class and the adaptations that the teacher has made to include them.
A. Let them (persons with visual, hearing , autism , HIV/ AIDS and moto skills impairment) participate in school sports activates, so they feel a part of the school and will want to be there and learn in a comfortable environment without judgment or bulling.
4. What qualities does a teacher need to have in order to be able to help these children feel included?
A willingness and a positive attitude to make it work.
5. Identify what you think different staff listed below have to do to create an inclusive ethos.
Principals – support facilities and resources for impaired students
School based support staff – Plan, implement strategies and record its effectiveness
Teachers- Identify problems and different learning behaviors to help the students
