Activity 2.7 Positive behaviour management strategies
The strategy I used to positively manage behaviours in the classroom are:
- Start by having children discuss what are acceptable and unacceptable behaviours.
- Allow them to decide which is the right behaviour ,then choose the reward for good or bad behavioral displays. Most of the time the children decide that outdoor time should not be allowed or playing with a special toy. If they do decide on a more drastic or unrealistic punishment questions would be asked about how they would feel about having that type of reward.
- if no change I will guide the students to a more acceptable way of reward. Using this strategy to manage the behaviours normally work because the children enjoy outdoor activities and playing with special toys .
- Note there are rewards for behaviours that are acceptable and rewards for unacceptable behaviours.
