1.2 Inclusive School

Two factors that I believe are effective in contributing to an inclusive ethos environment are, Firstly, building strong teacher to teacher partnerships which contributes to the development of the whole child. The school I am based at we are always encourage to o our best to ensure developmentally appropriate practice is carried out. Secondly, a resource room is important to cater for inclusion. The room gives the child the comfort knowing their is a place for him in the environment. It helps in managing behaviour.

I must agree with you on the importance of good teacher-teacher relationships and resource rooms. I was a teacher and I can testify to the benefits I derived from eating lunch with other teachers and sharing experiences. There were many topics I was able to teach competently after talking and learning from others.

I definitely agree with you, a partnership between Teachers does contribute to the development of the whole child. When educators share methods and ideas they are better equipped to help the children.

Inclusive school

Hi, I am Yesenia Chan from Belize. I agree with your ideas. I do believe a resource room is very important feature for inclusive school. Our students tend to feel safe and tend to feel like if they are at home in a safe haven.

I agree that collaboration amongst teaching staff especially within the the department is critical to the holistic development of the child. When there is a shared vision it helps to change culture in a positive direction. A resource room is definitely a secure safe space for students requiring special attention.

I agree with changing the soft aspects of the school to make it inclusive, Soft aspects include attitudes and willingness to help and support all learners. Teacher should have positive attitudes towards inclusive education and the willingness to provide quality education for all learners

I quite agree with this statement said above. I also believe an inclusive school is strongly built on positive partnerships with the right ethos.
