Activity 1.3

In the school in which I work the following is my opinion on the aspects of inclusive education.

Support: For teachers and students working and learning in inclusive environments- In this area our school have provided a workshop to assist teachers in working within an inclusive environment however it is my opinion that more assistance and support can be provided for teachers. As for students in the school I work, limited support is provided for children that are in need of assistance. For example, teaching aids are supposed to be sent to assist the disable child however this process is very lengthy and the child may move on to another level without any assistance at all only from the teacher.

Cultural change: Respect for diversity and participatory learning- It is my opinion that in our school, there is respect and appreciation for diversity and its is embraced throughout the academic year.

Partnerships: Parents, teachers, organisations of people with disabilities- Collaboration is very important in any school. Its my opinion that in my school, partnerships with teachers and parents of children with disabilities have been established. Partnerships with organizations can be established.

Monitoring: Tracking progress on a regular basis- Teachers monitor all progress of children with disabilities regularly.

Systems: Commitment and resources across education ministries and throughout the school-. There is some level of commitment and resources across education ministries and throughout the school but these can be strengthened.

As you mention about that your school had a workshop. That's just the start...
