Activity 1.3: Features of an inclusive school.


 

Some aspects of inclusivity which this school does well are:

1.       There is cultural diversity

2.       All staff members are trained and qualified teachers

3.       Team work, the entire staff is committed to inclusion.

4.       There are adequate resources to meet the need of all students.

 

Some aspects of inclusivity which this school can develop are:

1.       Parent and teacher communication.

2.       Attention should be place on the outdoor physical environment. There should be more accommodation for wheelchair bound student with the place of ramps.

3.       Assessments of students should vary example, oral, observation etc.

4.       Teachers should be a more welcoming attitude to parent and students.
