As an educator, we are philosophically committed to student diversity and we must appreciate that learning differences are natural and positive. We need to focus on identifying and capitalizing on individual students' interests and strengths. Systemic support, collaboration, effective classroom practices, and a universal design approach can make inclusive education work so that students with disabilities have the same access to the general education curriculum and to classmates as any other student and the same opportunity for academic, social, and emotional success. None of these can prove effective if it is not championed by the love, dedication and passion of a teacher who is willing to look past differences.
This Toolkit opened my eyes even more to the fact that with proper planning and a holistic, positive attitude, we can theoretically and practically reach and teach any student with any challenges.

The tool Kit emphasizes that teachers' behavior is key in educating children with special needs. The kind of reception these children receive from the teacher right from the onset determines their success or not at school and in life generally. It is therefore important that both the behavior and attitude that teachers portray is consistently positive,appreciative and all-embracing to enable these children find warmth, love and care in school and beyond.
