Working with Families

Before the beginning of a new year or term, I call a meeting of parents to enlighten them about how we are going to work with the children and the teachers. School's expectations will be spelt out. Parental involvement will be outlined so that every parent sees their role and what contribution each can make to the success of the school. Parents will be encouraged to communicate with the school about their children. Whenever, they do not understand what is going on in the school regarding their child, they are free to approach the school or their teacher to seek clarification. The school will do the same when there are issues to do with the child. Such two way communication can only benefit the child and the school as a whole.

During term time, the school will be sending communications regarding school experiences. School calendar will be distributed to the parents so that they know what the school is doing and what they are expected to do.

There will be school consultation days organised for detailed  discussions about children's progress in school in addition to individual approaches and visits.

This way the school continue to work together for the benefit of the child.
