Two things I will take away from this course are:

1. The need for learners to play a role in developing how learning takes place in the classroom by asking them for their views. In planning, students are sometimes not included and they can be the most valuable voices to hear as they are the main participants for any strategies developed. Having their input can be a valuable factor. 

2. The need for ongoing teacher development in the classroom and support from key stakeholders in the community. I have seen the benefit of teachers being able to learn and incorporate what they have learnt directly in the classroom. Assessments can then be done to measure the impacts and support provided to make adjustments where and when needed. It is not a matter of teachers being punished when results are not what may have been expected. But true development is ongoing support from school administrators. This eliminates the fears of many teachers and reduces the resistance given by teachers to observing their teaching styles. 

Other takeaways

1. The need for support from stakeholders outside the school. For example, parents and community groups. Throughout this course we have seen the need for parents to support the school. Parents can consciously assist teachers by understanding the needs of their children and reinforcing the work done by  teachers in school. For this to happen, community groups who may better understand the culture and social issues within their communities can aid in getting parents to buy into this process better than the school can achieve. All together it works to the betterment of the school and its learners.
