Important features of an inclusive school

Hi, I am Yesenia Chan  Primary School Teacher in Belize. Important features of an inclusive school would be soft things meaning the teacher attitude the other one would the culture and the resources. The soft things does not only include the teacher but also administration as they take an important role in the school environment. They are also responsible in allocating resources for school and to include all students. Administration should also support in facilitating inclusion for all students along with teachers and other colleagues. Administrators and teachers should be able to share in a positive way their ideas about inclusion in school assemblies and meetings. Communicating to parents and students about adaptations, resources and activities that can be implemented to include all students in the learning process is essential. The culture is also important the way how people behave is of great importance and the resources are also significant in helping children with special needs. As administrators and teachers we need to shape people's attitudes and create self-esteem especially in our students so they can feel they are included.
