Working with Families

Two ways in which schools can work with families can include:

  • Families assisting with extracurricular activities- Extracurricular activities enhances educational experiences in children. A parent volunteer can play a vital role in ensuring these activities are available. they can serve as an extra helper or even a chaperone.
  • Families getting involved in the policy making level- When different people come together more ideas emerge. When a group of teachers, administrators and parents come together to discuss problems within the school and establish solutions more rewarding outcomes are achieved.

I agree

Parents and family members make valuable contribution to the overall school ethos and can also foster further buy-in and involvement by other parents and relatives who have skills, knowledge and experience that they can contribute.  I can personally testify to parent and family involvement it fosters a healthy environment and rapport and trust among all stakeholders, students, teachers staff and administration alike
