After doing a refresher exercise on the child centered approach I observed a change in the teachers’ curriculum delivery. Teachers’ activities have now become now child focus. The children become more  involved in their learning, their  interests and the experiences were now taking into consideration when planning, and teachers were listening to their ideas.

The children have become part of the planning process, for example, in planning the children Christmas party, each teacher consulted her group on what they wanted at the party, even when theme ware created for the term, children and teacher discuss the theme to find out what the children know and what they want to learn.  As a result of this approach the children are more settled and having more fun because learning is much more meaningful and they feel valved.

I totally agree with you Marlin it is very important for children to become engaged in their own learning
