Professional Development is teachers learning and then applying what they have learnt in their classroom. The Casade model of PD was not considered effective as only a few teachers would be chosen to undergo training, then they returned to their various institutions and train the remaining teachers. 

The negative effects of the Casade Model is:-

1. Knowledge gain may be diluted as it is transferred from one group to another.

2. The focus is on skills and knowledge rather than developing positive attitude and values which are very important attributes of an effective teacher.
