It's interesting to see the the top two choices in each poll is the same ie.
1) Establishing and maintaining a culture where improving standards and wellbeing for all pupils is the main priority
2) Establishing professional values and behaviours among staff to support continuous improvement and effective teamwork
This seems to indicate these two characteristics are recognised by most people as being the most important. Yet there are equal numbers as to whether they are seen as being the most or least commonly occurring characteristics.
I selected 2) above as the most commonly occurring and I believe the reason for this is the amount of focus on this area over the past 3 years since the last Estyn inspection.
My least common selection was;-
Making sure that staff’s continuous professional development improves the quality of provision and outcomes for pupils
As with all schools, there is a significant amount of professional learning taking place with all staff. Much of this has been driven by the need to get ready for the Curriculum for Wales (CfW). The effectiveness and benefit of this learning will only become apparent in the 2022-2023 academic year with the full implementation of the CfW. The evidence seen to date is showing excellent pedagogical practices being adopted across the school, which will support the delivery of CfW
