06 Framing your videos

In addition to the overall frame, it’s important to choose the right camera angle for taking your shots. The camera angle marks the position of the camera in relation to the subject you want to shoot.

Low angle: when the camera is placed below the subject and the lens is pointing up. Filming a subject just a little below eye level makes them look heroic, powerful and grand.

High angle: when the camera is placed above a subject with the lens pointing down. High angle shots are used to make the subject or object seem vulnerable, powerless, or weak.

Eye level angle: when the camera is placed at the same level of the eye of the subject. Eye level angle is the most neutral angle and it is perfect for interviews.
