Trustee Recruitment

The SKIP Board of Trustees is responsible for providing long-term continuity, protection, direction and support of the charity. Trustees are appointed to a Term of Office of 3 years.

The current Trustee roles include:

  • Chair of Trustees - they chair the trustees, provides support to the rest of the Trustees and National Coordinator and have an oversight of their aims and objectives.  

  • Training/Child Protection Lead - is responsible for ensuring all members of the charity receive adequate training for their role and monitoring the quality of training delivered. They also ensure SKIP have adequate processes and policies in place to safeguard the children we work with.  

  • Research & Development/Health & Safety Lead - has a strategic overview of all R&D activities within the charity, and continuously aim to improve SKIP's R&D and Monitoring and Evaluation direction. They are also responsible for Health and Safety within the charity.

  • Fundraising/Global Health/Impact - is responsible for monitoring and evaluation within SKIP that will improve fundraising both nationally and at a branch level. They also lead to strengthen global health opportunities and awareness within SKIP 

  • Communications/Equality Diversity & Inclusivity/GDPR -  leads on Equality & Diversity and work to ensure that SKIP is an inclusive charity. They also  have a strategic overview of SKIP's public relations & communications and leads on data protection within the charity.

  • Treasury and Volunteer Recruitment - is responsible for ensuring SKIP is compliant with, and meets, charity regulations in order to ensure the continued financial and legal protection of the charity. They are also taking a lead on the strategic side of volunteer recruitment. 

Trustees decide annually whether to open applications and if required, a call for applicants will be made at the Autumn Big Weekend.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview conducted by a nominated selection panel. It must consist of one External representative, one Trustee and one National Committee Member; and will aim to include one Branch representative
