How to Escalate Concerns
These flowcharts will help aid your decision making. If in doubt, please ask the safeguarding team - call us if there is an immediate concern you don't think can wait.
The yellow circle - Low Risk - gives examples of when you should be mildly concerned about a student.
The orange circle - Medium Risk - gives examples of when you should be moderately concerned about a student.
The red circle - High Risk - gives examples of when you should be seriously concerned about a student and need to act immediately.

Always inform the young person of what you are going to do, and don't try to fix the situation yourself. Reassure them that their safety and wellbeing is your top priority. Don't make promises you can't keep.
